The festivities are everywhere. We spend our days going from feria to festival to concert to animal show. Emilie is very happy about the diversity of the entertainment here and Zoila just absorbs everything she sees, feels, smells or tastes :)
On Thursday, we have seafood for lunch with Primo Marco and his Colombian wife Gloria. On Friday, we have to deal with Nana Celia's famous locked doors. The story is that Nana's home is almost like an hotel, all the rooms have their own doors and locks, and open on the corridor and patio. The problem is that we don't have keys for all the doors, and we accidentally locked the living room with all our bags, Zoila's changes/diapers and our money. We didn't have the key and Nana Celia was not home. Then, we accidentally locked Nana's bedroom, where the main bathroom is and where other doors' keys were. It was almost comic, but we were not very happy about it. Galo was able to get some of our stuff from the windows thru the iron bars, with a long stick. Crazy house!
We also go to a fair just across the street from where we live. We see our first Vicuñas and some horses, sheep and guinea pigs. Those are called "cuyes" and they eat them. We haven't had a chance to try them yet but we will. We have a good time but the sun is fatal and I think I got in insolation. My vision got blurry and I had a headache. We go back home so we can rest. Emilie, Galo and I are feeling very tired and we wish we could take a nap but Zoila doesn't think so...Around 6pm, we rush to the house of primo Marcelo because we promised Emilie she will play with her cousin Marcela. Emilie opens up to her new friends and she has a great time. Tonight a lot is going on during the Fiesta de la Fruta y Flores (FFF), but it's too late for us, so we had back home. Taxis are rare because of the different events happening at the same time, but we're lucky and within 5 mns we are driving back home.
