Indeed, today is much better. The sun is back and it's actually very warm. After our breakfast, we finally get out of the house and take Zoila's soiled diapers to the laundromat. We then go by Tia Isabel's house to say hi to the family. Meri and Paulina are there. We get to eat delicious "tortillas de verde", pancakes-like patties made of green plantains. Very yummy! We then go the central market for lunch and have "llapingachos con chorizo", pancake-like patties made of potatoes, served with chorizo, an egg and avocado. And of course, el jugo. Emilie and I have a coco/mora one (coco/blackberry). Cousin Diego comes with us. He just started studying at the University in Ambato but has been pressured by his aunts and cousins to go and study in the US. He doesn't want to and was very happy to talk to Galo who encouraged him to stay in Ecuador and trust what he wants to do. Galo tells him his own story and I suspect he is the first and only person to tell Diego to stay in Ecuador. The life of an immigrant is not an easy one, and when you have all you need where you are, it just seems wiser to stay there.

After our savory lunch at the market, Diego leaves us and we go to the park again. It's so nice to just seat there and observe the people. We could do that for hours. Around 3:00 p.m. we decide to go to the "Festival de las Arpas y Bandas", a music festival of Harpes and marching bands. It's taking place in an outdoor theatre by a small park and it's packed when we get there. I don't see anything but the music is great. We hang out in the park while enjoying the music and playing with the girls. It's very sunny and I get my first burns of the year. The girls were prepared with sunhat and sunscreen. I definitely take better care of them than of myself :)

We finally decide to get back home so I can bath Emilie and Zoila, and we stop by the laundromat to pick up Zoila's diapers (we later forgot them in the taxi but the driver was kind enough to come back, ouf!). Nana Celia is waiting for us at home. But there's not hot water because not enough pressure. So no bath for nobody. We will just go to bed dusty and smelly :) While looking at the water going down the drain, I just realize that I am in the southern hemisphere and the water swirls counter clock wise. How funny!

Light dinner, and it's time to go to bed. Zoila almost didn't nap so she is overexcited and take more than an hour to fall asleep. Sweet dreams my lovely adventurers.
